Half Moon Nail Art, This is a girly yet grown-up look, featuring painted crescents and retro color contrast. Color-coordinate it with your outfit for twotoned fun.
- Pink polish
- Clear top coat
- Red polish
This look can feature any color pairing, but make sure the top color polish is opaque enough to
cover the bottom color.
Apply one coat of pink polish to all nails and allow to dry.
Apply a second coat of pink polish to the bottom of each nail, carefully covering the moon area (see Nail Anatomy) and painting to the edges of the bottom part of the nail. Allow time to dry.
Apply a clear top coat to all nails and allow 20 minutes to dry.
Position a paper reinforcement on the bottom of each nail so the top of
the reinforcement follows the line of the moon area and covers the
bottom one-third of the nail. Press lightly so the paper reinforcement
adheres to the nail, pressing more firmly at the edges of the nail where it meets the cuticle.
Paint the nail with red polish using upward strokes, swiping your brush across the top of the paper reinforcement and continuing to the top of the nail. Apply to all nails and allow to dry, then repeat with a second coat of red polish.
When polish is completely dry, use tweezers to remove the paper
reinforcements, pulling slowly and carefully from one side to the other.
Apply clear top coat and allow the completed look to dry
